Finding Your Product & Dose
Choosing the Product That’s Right For You
How to Take CBD
First and foremost, it depends on what you are wanting to take the CBD for and the effects you are looking to get from it.
CBD Oils
CBD oil is meant to be taken sublingually, under the tongue. By putting 5-10 drops under your tongue and holding it for about 2-3 minutes, the CBD molecules are able to get absorbed straight into the bloodstream without having to first go through the digestive tract. If you do not feel the desired effects within 20 minutes, repeat the process until you find the dosage that’s right for you.
Oils are:
– Great for anyone who can’t swallow pills or capsules
– Quickly absorbed so effects are felt quickly
– The most popular way of taking CBD

CBD Soft Gels
Soft gels are pre-dosed and optimal for people wanting to take them systematically to treat their symptoms. Soft gels must be swallowed, which means they go through the digestive tract first until the CBD molecules are finally absorbed in the small intestine. Some of the properties of CBD can get lost along the way from a compromised digestion due to stress, a polluted environment or unhealthy food. This means you might notice yourself having to either take a higher dose, or waiting longer before you feel the effects.
Soft gels are:
– A great way to bypass having to taste the oil
– Slower to be felt after ingestion
– Designed to deliver a precise and consistent dose of CBD, so you know exactly how much you’re taking
CBD Gummies
Edibles are a popular way to take CBD as they’re portable, discrete and delicious. It’s a fun, more relaxed way to integrate CBD into your supplement and self-care routine.
Gummies are:
– Easy to use
– Delicious and have no hempy or herby taste.
– Lower in dosage and price

CBD Balms, Creams & Lotions
Topical products like balms, creams and lotions are great for treating a wide range of skin conditions as well as skin inflammation, joint inflammation, pain, burns and surface irritation. They’re very safe to use and chances of experiencing any side effects are extremely low as creams don’t enter the bloodstream. Our balm can be gently massaged into the area you wish to treat. It treats arthritis, psoriasis, acne, eczema, rashes, burns and a whole host of other conditions.
Topical products are:
– Easy to integrate into your skincare routine
– A direct way to precisely target skin conditions on the surface
– Great for applying to specific points of pain felt below the surface
How to Dose for Beginners
Dosing is something that is very specific to each individual as every body metabolizes supplements and medications differently. The right dosage for you depends on a range of factors:
– Age
– Weight
– Gender
– CBD tolerance
– Metabolism
– Severity of symptoms
– Your CBD product

General Rules of Thumb
CBD Oils: We recommend that beginners start off with 5-10 drops per day until they reach their desired dosage.
CBD Soft Gels: We recommend that beginners take one soft gel per day until a comfortable dosage is reached. If you are experienced in using CBD, we still recommend starting off with one capsule of Elix if you are used to taking another brand.
CBD Gummies: For beginners, it’s best to start off by taking one 10mg gummy a day and work your way up if necessary, until you reach your ideal dose.
CBD Balms: Balms don’t enter the bloodstream so you may use topical CBD products as much or as little as you like.
Finding the right dosage will take some time, patience and experimentation when you first start out. CBD is perfectly safe to take no matter the dosage, so with no associated risks or potential to overdose, you are free to experiment. We always recommend starting slow, however.
